The trek led from Tumlingtar (457 m) to Makalu Barun National Park, through villages Khandbari (1 036 m), Bhote Bash (1 875 m) and Num (1 500 m), crossing the Arun river to Sedua village (1 600 m), then Tashigao (2 200 m), Khumba (3 400 m), crossing the Shipton Pass (4 830 m) and entering the Barun river valley, followed the river upstream through Tumatan Kharka (3 500 m), Nehe Kharka (3 800 m), Yark Kharka (4 200 m) to Makalu base camp (4 900 m). Further we have crossed East Col (6 220 m) and West Col (6 100 m) continued over Barun Glacier to Hinku valley. From Makalu Barun National Park we have reached the Sagarmatha National Park crossing from Hinku valley over Amphu Laptse La (5 800 m), descended to Chukung village (4 800 m) in the Dudhkoshi river valley, continued along the river downstream through villages Dingboche (4 400 m) and Tengboche (4 050 m) to Namche Bazar (3 440 m) and to Lukla (2 800 m).

At the beginning we flew from Kathmandu to Tumlingtar by a small airpalne and using a similar small aircraft flew back to Kathmandu from Lukla.

We have been on the trek for three weeks, walked more then 200 km, slept in tents seventeen nights. For a week we have stayed at the altitude above 5 000 m, four times climbed above 6 000 m. The average temperature in the valleys was 30 oC with a maximum of 40 oC in the Arun river valley. The minimum temperature on the Barun Glacier reached minus 25 oC.
